Game 1
Bromley Heath Utd 'A' v Longwell Green Under13's Div2 AYL 06-09-09
Bromley started this game in fine fashion against a good Longwell Green side and scored twice before half time both through Greg Ward. The good form continued into the second half with goal's from Adam Campbell and James Malby. This was a good team display by Bromley which all the players should be congratulated for.
Final score 4-0 to Bromley Heath Utd 'A'
Game 2
Yate Utd 'B' v Bromley Heath Utd 'A' AYL Cup U13's Round 1 13/09/09
Bromley continued their resent good form with a convincing 8.0 win against Yate Utd'B'. James Malby and Loryan Nolan bagged a goal each before half time but Bromley had created many other chances but were unable to take them. HT 2.0 The second half was a different story as Malby grabbed his second goal shortly followed by a Greg Ward brace taking the score to 5.0. Matty Weymouth then scored a fully deserved goal as he had set up countless chances for the rest of the team. Adam Campbell also scored to cap a fine display 7.0. The evergreen Greg Ward then grabbed his hat trick to finish the scoring. Bromleys defence of George Amos, Connor Cairaschi, Luke Dinnall and Marcus Lambert were faultless today along with Ross Baker in goal. Jack Richardson and Joe O'Connor worked hard for the team in midfield to enable Bromley this result. FT 8.0
Game 3
Ashton Boy's 'A' v Bromley Heath Utd 'A' AYL Cup U13's Round 2 27/09/09
Bromley progressed into the 3rd Round of the AYL Cup with a solid performance against Ashton Boys 'A'. There was not much between the two sides at the start of the game with both sides getting half chances. But once Bromley found there rhythm midway through the 1st half Ashton had no answer for it. James Malby grabbed the first goals after a terrific build up and finish. Malby was again on target a few minutes later after taking the ball into the Ashton penalty area and shooting from an acute angle. Adam Campbell grabbed a deserved third after some good play out on the right wing. Bromley then capped off a good first half with Malby's hatrick. HT 4-0 to Bromley.
Bromley lost influential centre midfielder Joe O'Connor at half time due to a bad kick to the shin but George Amos was at hand to step in and continue O'Connor's good work. Bromley scored two more goals in the second half the first via an Adam Campbell penalty and then a Greg Ward tap in after being set up from man of the match James Malby. Matty Weymouth and Jack Richardson, Joe O'Connor, George Amos and Adam Campbell worked hard to carve out chances for the team in midfield but it must be noted that Goalkeeper Ross Baker and his defence of Marcus Lambert, Connor Cairashi, Luke Dinnall and Loryan Nolan also worked hard to keep Bromleys impressive record of not conceding a goal so far this season intact. Full Time 6-0 Bromley Heath Utd 'A'
(scans have confirmed that Joe O'Connor has broken several hairs on his shin and is expected to make a full recovery after a leg wax :-). On a serious note though if Joe never had shin pads on this injury could of been nasty but instead as he did have good pads on he has slight brusing on the shin. This is why you wear pads!!!
Game 4
Bromley Heath Utd 'A' v Henbury Under13's Div2 AYL 04-10-09
A disappointing first defeat of the season in many ways today the only positives that can be taken was the amount of chances we created but sadly for us it was one of those days. All the goals Henbury scored were down to us not clearing our lines or not marking. It seemed every time we made a mistake they scored from it. The goals on the other hand that we scored were created, the best of which was our second goal, a Greg Wards header from a great Adam Campbell cross. Greg scored again in this game and the other scorers were James Malby and Joe O'Connor.
This must be used as a wake up call for the lads and to get back to basics. If this game was based on how many clear cut chances you have we would of hammered Henbury but it's not I'm sad to say it's about scoring and defending. Final Score 5-4 to Henbury
Game 5
Yate Utd 'A' v Bromley Heath Utd 'A' AYL Cup U13's Round 3 11-10-09
The lads were handed a real lesson in how to play the game today. 10 man Yate just passed the ball about and opened us up at will. To compete against a team like Yate you must do the basics well. Bromley were 2nd to the ball, never man marked and gave the ball away. The only positive that can be taken from this game was that I hope he lads learned something today. Final Score 9-0 to Yate Utd 'A'
Game 6
Coalpit Heath 'A' v Bromley Heath 'A' Div2 AYL 18-10-09
We always have good games of football against Coalpit Heath the results don't always go our way but sometimes they do, in this game it did just go our way. The game was another of those clash of the Heath's type games but it finished 0-0. Coalpit had chances to score but did not take them. We also had chances but failed to take them. A real hard 1pt earned for both teams. Final Score 0-0
Game 7
Bromley Heath 'A' v Bradley Stoke Utd Div2 AYL 25-10-09
Sadly Bradley Stoke could not raise a team to play us. This probably due to Half Term holidays and illness.
Final Score Home Win to Bromley.
Game 8
St.Nicks 'A' v Bromley Heath 'A' Div2 AYL 01-11-09
We had a bit of a nightmare today against St.Nick's A. It was a game we really needed to win to keep pushing up the table but sadly for us nothing seemed to go right. Nicks scored 2 goals in the first half it could of been more but Bromley worked hard to keep the score down as Nick had the wind advantage. The 2nd half we were hoping to dominate which we did in the opening 10 mins but without scoring. At this point I felt we should go 3 at the back and add an extra player into midfield. Oh how it back fired on me! They scored twice shortly after the change and from that point onwards it was all Nicks. FT St.Nick's A 6-0 Bromley
Game 9
Longwell Green v Bromley Heath Utd Div 2 AYL 13-12-09
After a month of waiting due to water logged pitches Bromley were able to put their boots on and play again. Bromley found it hard to get going for the first 20 minutes and looked liked a side that had not played together for a while. Longwell had the better chances but Bromley kept them out. Then against the run of play Greg Ward finished off a rare attack to put Bromley 1-0 up. This gave Bromley more confidence and more chance began to come our way as Longwell went into their shell a little. HT 1-0 to Bromley.
The second half Bromley picked up from where they left off and after a period of pressure managed to get a corner which was floated in by Adam Campbell and was met by a Will Bentley header that shot into the net. 2-0 Bromley. At this point Bromley looked solid and thought we had won a penalty as one of the Longwell players looked to have handled the ball as it was crossed in. Unfortunately for us the ref did not see it and to the lads credit they just got on with game which was nice to see. A few minutes later Longwell were back in the game after we had failed to clear our lines. Bromley then got a third goal through an Adam Campbell run down the right hand wing. Adam let go an unstoppable shot that the keeper had little chance of getting to. All looked good for Bromley with 10 minutes left and being 3-1 up but the game was not by any means over yet. Longwell stepped up their efforts to get a goal and managed to scrabble one in as we lost possession in midfield. This meant a nervous ending to the game for Bromley which ended with Longwell grabbing an equalizer with just a few minutes left after Bromley again never cleared even though they had the chances to do so. Longwell will be more pleased with this point than us for sure, we looked rusty and did not do the simple things well enough. FT 3-3 draw.
Boco v Bromley Heath Utd U13's A 7-2-10 AYL Div 2
This was going to be an interesting game. Boco had two former Bromley players and we had one former Boco player.
Bromley started the game well on what was a very boggy pitch that was only going to cut up as the game went on. Even so the passing and movement of the team suggested that they could repeat the 6-2 win over Boco the previous season. Adam was causing all sorts of problems down the right flank as well as Jack on the left. The defense looked solid not allowing Boco many chances. After a great move down the right hand side Adam produced a fine shot just outside the penalty area which found the top left hand corner of the net. HT 1-0 to Bromley.
At half time James asked to come off as he was not feeling well this meant a change in shape as we did not want to adjust anything at the back or midfield. George was deployed as a extra hand in midfield and told to push up the field to help out Greg when he could.
Boco slowly got back into game and with 10 minutes left scored after the ball dropped into the Bromley penalty area. Our midfield had not got goal side of the Boco midfield and never took the chance to clear the ball when they could. 1-1.
Bromley stepped up a gear looking for a winner. Joe narrowly shot over and Greg had a great chance to to head the ball home after a great cross by Adam but it was not to be.
Boco will look at this game as a point gained for us this was 2 points lost. Having said that the lads put a lot of effort into this game in difficult conditions. Two lessons must come from this game. First we must shoot more often and second to clear the ball with more urgency than we are doing.
MOM Adam Campbell. Ran himself into the ground and produced a wonderful goal.
Bromley Heath Utd A v AEK Boco U13's A 14-3-10 AYL Div 2
The conditions were perfect for a great game of football.
Bromley were looking for their first win since the opening day of the season in the league while Boco were looking to push up the division out of the relegation dog fight. The opening 10 minutes belonged to Boco but Bromley kept them out with some resolute defending lead by Man of the Match Luke Dinnall. Bromley began to win more possession but found getting past the Boco defenders difficult.
Nearing the end of the first half Greg Ward on the left wing began to cause the Boco full back Danny Hickey more problems along with Adam Campbell for Bromley out on the right wing but still the Boco defense held firm.
It was obvious it was going to take a piece of magic or a mistake to get a goal.
To our surprise it was both of those things that provided Bromley with a goal!
The Boco keeper miss kicked his drop kick after a Bromley attack which went straight to Lewis Sutcliffe who's was just outside the penalty area. He brought the ball down looked up and hit the ball back over the keeper who was off his line. Bromley 1-0 Boco and a great finish!
In the second half Bromley were in control with most of the possession. A second goal was on the cards, and what a team goal it was!
After a Boco attack Ross Baker in the Bromley goal kicked the ball up the pitch which landed on the center circle. Bromley then created the move of the match. Bromley's center midfielders of Luke Wilson and Matty Weymouth interchanged passes which lead to the ball being played out to Adam Campbell. Adam then made a great run down the flank and played a pin point cross on to the head of Lewis who nodded the ball in from just outside the 6 yard box. FT Bromley 2-0 Boco.
Frys Club Juniors v Bromley Heath Utd 'A' 28-03-10 AYL Div 2
Frys Club Juniors were a club Bromley had never played before. Frys were promoted from Div 3 and after a slow start to the season had hit a bit of a purple patch. Bromley had to rearrange players before a ball had been kicked as Adam Campbell had come down with a bug overnight. Matty Weymouth filled the right wing position with Joe O'Connor slotting in to center mid. Two other players Greg Ward and Will Bentley were also carrying knocks but started the game to see how they would fair.
Bromley opened the scoring with a Ward special. A great run down the left wing cutting into the penalty area and an unstoppable shot into the top right of the net giving the keeper little chance. Then in a manic 5 minutes Bromley conceded two goals, one from open play and the other from a free kick. Both were down to bad marking which is something we will be working on in training this Thursday. Bromley then awoke again and managed to get a corner which was interesting as Adam who normally takes the corners was not there. Joe O'Connor ran over and took it and after the ball bobbled about a bit in the box James Malby fired the ball over the line. 2-2. Bromley were now on top and through the hard work of Whippet Malby who had up until this point a frustrating time of it with keeping on-side broke away down the right but then cut in and laid off a perfect ball for Greg to shoot into which is now his favorite top right hand corner of the net. HT 3-2 to Bromley.
At half time Will and Greg were rested due the the knocks they had with Jack and Connor coming on to take their places. Facing into a very slight wind Bromley found themselves pegged back a bit but looked solid enough not to worry too much. The ever improving Luke Dinnall was commanding at the back along with Marcus, Connor and Loryan. Our midfield of Jack, Matty, Joe and Luke Wilson were working hard to contain the Frys giant midfielders well but we had stopped threatening the Frys goal. Greg Ward was then put back into action but this time upfront replacing Whippet. A minute or so later Greg broke away into the Frys box. The defender appeared to had won the ball first before taking Greg but the ref adjudged it to be a foul. Greg stepped up to take the resulting penalty firing it in to the bottom left hand corner giving the keeper no chance. (Great substitution I thought!!! LOL!!) 4-2 Bromley. The drama was not over yet. We had about 4 minutes left but not according to the ref he had over 8 minutes left from where the ball had been out of play which seemed a lot to add to me and the Frys manager agreed. Then came the injuries!!! Loryan took a rather nasty blow by the ball and had to go off and was replaced by Will. Then Marcus took a bang to the head as he landed heavily. After the magic sponge had done it's job he then took another bang on the same place as before a minute or so later. Marcus was feeling a bit out of it so came off being replaced by a recovered Loryan.
Frys managed to grab a late goal to make it 4-3 but Bromley ran out the winners with a battling 4-3 win. MOM Greg Ward (for a fine hatrick and hard work)
Bromley Heath Utd 'A' v Coalpit Heath Utd 'A' 15/04/10 AYL Div 2
3 points against Coalpit Heath were earned by a James Malby goal after just a minute, then on the 5 minute mark a rare Greg Ward header doubled Bromleys lead. Coalpit Heath came back into the game before Half Time with a goal to make the HT score 2-1 to Bromley. The second half was a tight affair with Coalpit trying to get their second goal but the Bromley defense held firm.
Some great football was played by both teams in this game however it's unfortunate that this game will be remembered for the wrong reasons on and off the field.

Henbury v Bromley Heath United 'A' 22/04/10 Div 2 AYL
It was a beautiful night for a game of football.
The Bromley team were up for it from the word go against bottom team Henbury. Bromley were camped in the Henbury half from the start. It was not long Before Adam Campbell slotted home the first of 4 goals he would get in this match. James Malby slotted home the second with a fantastic placed shot. The goals continued to come and at half time the score was 7.0 to Bromley.
Bromley then went into there shell a bit allowing Henbury more time on the ball in the middle of the park which they did not make much use of. Then Bromley stepped up a gear scoring another 4 times. the goal scorers were Adam Campbell 4, James Malby 3, Greg Ward 1, Matty Weymouth 1, Joe O'Connor 1 and Jack Richardson 1. The man of the match was Loryan Nolan for a solid performance in an attacking fullback roll. Final Score Henbury 0 Bromley Heath Utd 'A' 11. However no tea for Ross!
Bromley Heath United 'A' v St.Nicks 'A' AYL Div 2 6-5-10
Bromley were still in need of at least a point to secure there Div 2 status. St. Nicks were 3pts ahead of Bromley on 22pts so were safe. After a nerves start Bromley started to create chances but against the run of play found themselves a goal down after a St.Nicks break away goal. To Bromleys credit they carried on playing football and got a goal through Adam Campbell after some good work down the right hand side. Marcus Lambert then took a nasty blow to the face and had to leave the pitch due to a bloody nose but happily returned later. Jack Richarson took his place at left back and it was not long until Jack struck the sweetest of shots from the edge of the St.Nicks penalty area which shot past the keepers left into the right hand side corner. HT 2-1 Bromley.
The second half saw Bromley play some great counter attacking football and more goals came from Connor Cairaschi, Joe O'Connor and Jack Richardson for his second goal. St.Nicks replied in-between Bromleys goals to keep the game alive. Well done to everyone today, the team spirit we have here now is first rate and some of the football played shows us all we are a good footballing team.
Final Score Bromley Heath United 'A' 5 St.Nicks 'A' 3
Joint man of the match Jack Richardson and Adam Campbell chosen by John Baker and myself.
Bradley Stoke United v Bromley Heath United 'A' 9/5/10 AYL Div 2
Another great performance from all the lads today with a 6-2 win over Bradley Stoke United. The term total football is used too much these days but today Bromley showed us just how good they can play the game. James Malby opened the Bromley account after a great ball through. He out paced the defender to slot the ball home. Then a laps in concentration let BSU back into the game 1-1. Bromley then scored again with BSU replying to make the score 2-2. In the second half Bromley went up a gear and really put pressure on the BSU defense to score another 4 goals which BSU had little answer for.
Goal scorers were Connor Caraschi with 2, James Malby with 3 and Adam Campbell with 1.
More goals were scored but disallowed for offside.
FT Bradley Stoke United 2 Bromley Heath United 'A' 6
Joint man of the match James Malby and Adam Campbell chosen by me.
Bromley Heath United A v Frys Club Colts 16-05-10 AYL Div 2
Bromley went into this game knowing they were safe after really getting their act together over the last 8 games or so. Fry's however had to draw or win to stay up. After winning so well at Bradley Stoke the week before we stuck to the same 11 players that started that game. For some reason although we had the same 11 out there it was a different team that was playing. Fry's looked like they wanted it more than us but were unable to score until the later part of the first half. HT 1-0 to Fry's. At half time Luke Wilson and Loryan Nolan was put on. This had an impact straight away as Bromley started to have more attacks. Joe O'Connor netted a deserved equalizer after a good ball from the right wing. Bromley then started to get chances but were unable to convert them.
Fry's won a free kick 20 yards out. The ball was fired in high and found the top of the net. It was hit so well that even an adult keeper could not of saved it. 2-1 Fry's. From this point onwards Fry's started to create chances but this time take them. Bromleys heads went down as they conceded another 2 goals from open play.
Full Time Fry's 4 Bromley 2.
A disappointing finish to the season but hopeful for the next judging by the recent form.
I'd like to thank everyone for the efforts they have made this season and if we can start to find some consistency next season we should do well.
