21st September – Longwell Green v Bromley Heath – Under 11
Newly promoted Bromley Heath are not underestimating how tough this season is going to be :
Bromley however had a great first half away to Longwell Green and looked good for their 1-0 lead at half time, courtesy of James Sanderson. Jack Trapnell in Goal pulled off some great saves including one absolutely impossible one !
In the second half, Bromley were playing uphill in long grass and tired legs started to show. Longwell Green equalised before long and soon notched up a few more. Heads went down and Bromley were 6-1 down at the final whistle ! Tom Burden won man of the match due to his dogged performance and his refusal to give up the game.
There were good signs in our performance and we are hopeful to improve as the season progresses.

Bromley Heath United v's Bishport United 02/11/2008
In an important bottom of Div C clash Bromley Heath and Bishport United both walked away with a point, the final score being 2-2. It started an open game with both sides defending well, attacking and getting shots on goal. Heath nearly broke the deadlock, but the goal area scrabble tipped in by Daniel Smith was ruled off-side. Bishport also made chances, but Heath's goalie, Jack Trapnell, pulled off a number of stunning saves. Following half-time, Bishport's Charlie Elliott booted in a scorcher from outside the box. Heath's MoM, Mitch Brunning, quickly replied, beating the defenders and keeper with a mazy run and slotting one in. Five minutes before the final whistle the tempo was raised when Brandon Godfrey booted in a long-shot, putting Bishport a goal ahead. Barely a minute before the final whistle, good team-work from Heath placed the ball at Smith's feet, for him to reliably drill home to equalise. |
