FDS Bristol v Bromley Heath Utd 14-9-08
Health lost away to FDS Bristol 4-1 in their first match of the season.
FDS Bristol opened the scoring but Heath pulled a goal back as Joe O'Connor went around 3 FDS players to score a great goal. HT 1-1.

2nd half FDS scored 3 goals 2 of them coming from a very fast winger and 1 from a bad clearance from Heaths defence. Over all a good even 1st half and then in the 2nd half we allowed FDS to run at us.
Unlucky lads and unlucky Ross who will now not get his Sunday roast for the 1st time in months!!

Bromley V Longwell Green 21-9-09

Not the greatest of starts to the season for the lads. Ollie, Loryan, Marcus, Jake, Connor, D and Sam all tried hard but this is an a 11 a-sided game guy's. Hoping for better next week. Brom lost 5-1. Ho Hum!!!

AYL Cup U12 round 1 Bromley Heath United v Bristol United 'B'

Coming off the back of a very poor start to the season it was a very important game for Bromley to win, and what a start it was. Bromley hit top gear as soon as the game started with a goal in the first 2 minutes and then the goals just kept coming as Bromley totally out played their opposition.
Bristol United had no answer for Man of the match Jake Alderman and his fellow centre midfield partner Greg Ward who dominated the midfield and created countless chances.
A 5 star display from James Malby who notched up 4 goals in the 1st half along with Dion Buckey-Miles 2 goals, Joe O'Connor, Connor Cairaschi and George Amos all scoring 1 a piece to make the HT score 9.0 to Bromley.

The 2nd half Bromley kept creating chance after chance and a further 8 goals came from James Malby to bring his total for the game to an amazing 5 goals, Loryan Nolan 3 goals, Connor Cairaschi 2 more goals to complete his hat trick, Tom Shore and Ross Baker completed the scoring. Ross Baker the Bromley keeper scored his 1st goal ever in over 5 years playing for Bromley as he was aloud to play outfield in the 2nd half.

Credit must go to Bristol United 'B' here they never gave up and just kept on trying to compete against a very strong Bromley team performance. Final score 17.0 to Bromley Heath Utd.

GFA Cup Round 1 Bromley Heath Utd v Tredworth Tigers 05-10-08

As Tredworth were not a local team we knew nothing about them so the lads were briefed to expect anything. A good solid start by Bromley saw a few half chances go begging but we got the first goal through Whippet Malby and then a further 2 goals for his 2nd hat-trick in 2 games. Connor Cairaschi also found the net twice with two good strikes. Trendworth hit back with a goal after Bromley gave the ball away in midfield which caught our defence knapping. which made the half time score 5.1 to Bromley.

In the second half Bromley netted twice more, once from a Jake Alderman header the cross was supplied by Dion Buckey-Miles and Loryan Nolan ripped through the Trendworth defence and slotted home. Tredworth got a consolation goal near the end. Luke Dinnall had a very solid start on his Bromley debut in defence, Joe, Greg, George, Ross, Niall, Ollie, Danny and Sam should all get a mention for a good display. Well done lads!!

All reports are saying Ross is looking forward to his tea!

Final score 7-2 to Brom.

Bishport v Bromley Heath Utd 19-10-08 AYL Cup Round 2

It was the first time we had ever played Bishport, so the lads were briefed before the start of the game to expect a hard battle. They were asked to keep the ball on the floor and play a passing game.
We started very slowly not getting into our stride at all. Bishport were quicker to the ball than us all over the park but we still managed to create most of the chances. It was not until 20 minutes into the game we started to dominate them and finally scored through a Dion shot from way outside the box. Most of us watching felt that this was all we needed to get into gear.
BUT!
No one told Bishport that!!
To their credit they hit back with a fantastic free kick that left Keeper Ross Baker with little chance. The goal lifted the Bishport team and a few minutes later they scored again with Bromley looking very shocked and sorry for themselves. This finally kick stared us in to playing and from this point on it was all Bromley as we bagged two goals before half time through Connor Cairasci and Loryan Nolan. HT 3.2 to Bromley
In the second half we continued to create and score goals with Sam Skuse, Greg Ward, Joe O'Connor getting 1 each and 2 goals from Matt Weymouth. Bishport scored with the last kick of the game to make the score 8.3 to Bromley.

MANAGERS NOTES:
*Niall Katuszka had a very good game out on the left with countless tackles and runs.
*Man of the match Danny Hickey who was not a well chap the day before, got out of his death bed for this game and did well for us.
*Marcus Lambert has improved each game since joining us.
*Luke Dinnall and George Amos again had a solid game at the back.
**Poor old Ross Baker Bromley's keeper will miss his Sunday lunch again, but I thought he had a good game at sweeper!
*More work needed from us to improve in the league.

St.Nicholas 'A' v Bromley Heath Utd Div2 AYL 26-10-08
Due to half term Bromley' was very low on number's going into this game, we had eleven keen players though which was the main thing. Our trips to St.Nick's in the past have never been very lucky for us but the lads were up for it looking to change our fortunes.
After an even start to the game St.Nick's got a goal after some poor marking from Bromley when Nick's had a corner. Bromley then had to weather a storm as they began to put pressure on the Bromley defence. Bromley slowly got back into game and just before half time got two corner in quick succession. Dion's 2nd corner was met by Sam Skuse who drilled the ball into the bottom left-hand corner. HT 1-1
The 2nd half started with Bromley putting a lot pressure on to Nick's defence this pressure paid off when Jake Alderman bagged his 50th goal for the club after some good work by Loryan Nolan 2.1 to Bromley. Not long after this goal a shot from Jake was clearly handled by a St.Nicks defender as it was heading into the goal. To our shock and amazement the ref never gave what was a stonewall penalty and also a sending off, going from the letter of the law. With this still on the lads minds St.Nicks equalised a minutes later and then from the resulting re-start we some how managed to give the ball away for them to run through and score again! 3.2 to Nicks. Bromley got their heads up and got back into the game and came close a few times to getting an equaliser but it had just turned into one of those days. Then just outside Bromley's penalty area the ref gave a free kick for a foul involving no body??? The direct?? free kick was hammered into the net giving Ross little or no chance of saving and with it a 4.2 lead to Nick's that we had no chance of getting back with only a few minutes left. The 5th goal came as Bromley were pushing up the pitch trying to get a goal back.
The score in this game did not reflect what really happened on the pitch. Disappointingly for us key decision's did not go our way at key times but that a side the effort put in by the lads in this game could not be faulted. MOM Sam Skuse. FT 5.2 St.Nick's

GFA Cup Round 2 Bromley Heath Utd U12's v Bradley Stoke Utd U12' 16-11-08

A Cup upset!

2nd division Bromley entertained 1st division Bradley Stoke Utd in the 2nd round of the GFA Cup. After the first 5 minutes it was clear that there was not much between these two sides as Heath and Bradley Stoke both had even amount of possession. The stalemate was broken by Heath's Joe O'Connor who's strong run and shot from centre midfield gave the keeper little chance.
The half was an even affair after Heath's goal. Bradley Stoke did manage to replied with a goal before half time but most felt that this was a fair reflection of the game so far.

At half time the Bromley players felt that they had a great chance of winning the game and really were up for it.

Bromley started well in the 2nd half and camped themselves in the Bradley Stokes half creating lots of chances but just could not beat the Bradley Stoke keeper or the wood work.
Dion Buckey-Miles, Greg Ward, Matt Weymouth, Joe O'Connor were pulling all the strings with lots of passing and movement in midfield. Bromley's defence were being well marshalled by Sam Skuse, Luke Dinnall, Ollie Smart and George Amos with James Malby, Loryan Nolan and Connor Cairaschi all giving the Bradley Stoke defenders a bit of work to do.
Dion Buckley-Miles supplied Bromley's 2nd goal with some quick thinking after the Bradley Stoke keepers goal kick landed in front of him. Dion returned the ball with interest straight into the back of the net to make the score a deserved 2-1 Bromley lead. Bromley carried on creating chances but just could not convert them into goals. With just 2 minutes left a rare Bradley Stoke attack caused trouble as the Bromley defenders could not clear the ball in the sticky mud this ended with Bradley Stoke snatching a equaliser and also sending the game into extra time. FT 2-2.

Extra time.
The Heath players could of at this point let there heads drop after conceding a late goal but to there credit they went for it again and finished the extra time spell of 20 minutes the better team and really should of scored twice in this period.

The Penalty shoot out.
A nervous penalty shoot out decided the result which ended 4.2 to Bromley Heath Utd.
Matt Weymouth, Dion Buckley-Miles, Connor Cairaschi and George Amos all scored the winning penalty's for Bromley. WELL DONE LADS!! A great performance!
