21/09/08 Bromley Heath v St Nicholas B - Under 9’s

Game 1

Goalie: Josh J

Defenders: Wesley B, Jacob H

Midfielders: Ben D, Connor H

Attackers: Sam H, Jonathan F

Another great day for a game of football, with the sun shining and lots of support.

1st Half:

St Nicholas started the brighter and scored very early on to make it 1-0.  The Bromley Heath boys didn’t let it effect their morale and with Connor H battling in midfield, good tackling by Wesley, and Jacob H at the back, they started to get in the game.  During another St Nicholas attack down the left, Ben D took a ball to the head, but got straight back up to get the ball away.  From the resulting throw in, Josh J made a superb save.  With a huge goal kick Josh managed to find John F who ran down the wing and won Bromley Heath a corner.  Sam H put a good cross in which found Conner H who narrowly missed the goal with a right footed shot.  St Nicholas hit us on the break and unfortunately scored their second goal 2-0. The first half ended with St Nicholas putting a lot of pressure on the defence but Jacob and Wesley were running their socks off with excellent blocks and well timed tackles keeping the score at 2-0.  With another excellent kick by Josh, Bromley Heath attacked and forced two consecutive corners.  The ref then blew his whistle for half time.

2nd Half:

Bromley Heath start the half a lot more brighter and a lot more attacking with Ben and Connor supporting the Strikers. It pays off almost immediately as we force consecutive corners straight away. St Nicholas are on the back foot for most of the early play and Bromley Heath are playing well as a team. Sam goes for a run down the left and shoots just narrowly wide with the goalie stranded. Bromley Heaths defenders Jacob and Wes are looking solid and strong with not much worrying them at all. Connor is playing exceptionally well and looks a tough little cookie. St Nicholas break down the right but Wes is there and puts in a really hard tackle to stop the attack, with Jacob there to clear the ball. Bromley Heath then go on their own counter attack and John forces the St Nicholas goalie into a good save. Ben plays the ball into the St Nicholas area, Sam collects it and his shot is well saved again. Bromley heath are playing well and it looks like a goal could be on the cards. St Nicholas are defending well and seem to be getting bodies in the way where it matters, but Ben gets the ball past his man and is brought down, free kick to Bromley Heath. Sam places the ball down and drives a powerful shot on target only to see the goalie produce another superb save. St Nicholas then break down the left wing and get a shot away on target but Josh is equal to it and produces a good save. The Bromley Boys get another corner but a poor ball in produces a quick break from St Nicholas and they manage to get beyond the defence and poke the ball past Josh 3-0. Bromley Heath have been the better team in the second half and didn’t deserve to concede a goal. The ref then blows the whistle for full time and the crowd give a tremendous round of applause for an excellent team performance.

The game finishes Bromley Heath 0 v 3 St Nicholas B.

Man of the Match : Wesley Burge.

Game 2

Goalie: Marley

Defenders: Jordan H, James L

Midfielders: Ryan B, Millen C

Attackers: Luke D, Zack M

Subs: John B., Jake C.

The sun is still shining and the supporters are looking forward to another good game.

1st Half:

There was early pressure on the St Nicholas goal with Millen using his pace to go down the left wing and unleashing a shot on target, which was well saved.  St Nicholas then produced an attack of their own, unfortunately for them Marley is at the top of his game.  Millen is looking lively for Bromley Heath and a good pass to Luke creates a chance for the striker.  St Nicholas cant seem to get past our two superb defenders, with James tackling well and wicked clearances from Jordan.  Ryan starts to see more of the ball and seems to be popping up everywhere.  Bromley Heath are putting a lot of pressure on the St Nicholas defence and are awarded with two consecutive corners.  Marley is getting his hands on everything and is looking hard to beat.  St Nicholas then hits on the break and manages to slip it past Marley,  unfortunately a well placed James has no time to react and sees the ball come off his foot and spin into his own net 1-0.  Bromley Heath kick off with Zack and Luke combining well up front and are unlucky not to score.  The ref blows his whistle for half time.

2nd Half:

There are two substitutions at the start with John B and Jake C. replacing Jordan and James in defence.  St Nicholas start the half more lively and test Marley again, but the young goalie produces a good save.  Zack and Luke combine well again, with Zack shooting just wide.  St Nicholas attack down the right, only for Jake C. to block their path.  The Bromley boys are playing really well with Millen producing decent runs down the left.  Ryan is still getting stuck in, tackling really well and supporting the defence superbly.  Marley is still looking solid in goal with everything sticking to his hands.  St Nicholas produce a shot at goal only for John B to block it, while Jake C. clears the ball.  Good pressure from Luke creates a chance for him to run down the left and win a corner.  One of the St Nicholas players has to be carried off after a crunching tackle from Luke.  From the resulting free kick Marley is made to work and dives to his right to save well.  St Nicholas attack again but Ryan is there to head the ball clear, Zack gathers the ball and produces another Bromley Heath attack.  With time running out Millen and Luke come close to scoring a goal, but it just isn’t happening.  Millen tries his luck from a free kick and nearly gets a well deserved goal.  The ref blows for full-time and both sets of players shake hands.

The game finishes Bromley Heath 0 v 1 St Nicholas B.

Man of the Match : Millen Cox

It was a wet misty morning, but our Bromley Boys warmed up well, and as always, there was plenty of support to encourage the team!!!

1ST Half.

Bromley Heath started bright and the first attack was down the right hand side with a terrific pass by Ben to Luke who forced the Longwell Green keeper into making a superb save. Evan and Jake both looked solid at the back and were looking in good form. Connor was everywhere and seemed to have the ball stuck to his boot at times. Millen was testing the defence at every occasion he could and forced a lot of corners. ‘Lightning’ Luke was living up to his nickname and soon got onto the end of a through ball and shot hard and low and scored his first of the season. The Bromley Heath Boys all celebrated in style (even Jamie). The rest of the half was a little scrappy at times and Marley had to make a few decent saves, but was very comfortable in goal. Ben and Connor battled well together and passed the ball well up the line to the two strikers who were finding space. Ben took a free kick late on in the half and unfortunately watched it slam against the post. Ben was very unlucky not to put the boys 2-0 up. Longwell Green forced some late pressure but Evan and Jake were tackling well. The ref blew up for half time 1-0.

2ND Half.

The manager made some changes at half time and brought on Wesley for Evan, swapped Jacob with Ben and our two superb keepers, Marley and Josh traded places. Longwell Green kicked off and Luke showed no fear by going straight after the ball. Millen was looking lively down the left side and was weaving in and out all game. Jacob was getting stuck in too and was soon getting his boots dirty after just coming on. Connor was on top form in the second half and really played at a high standard. Millen was fed the ball by Jake and turned well only to be fouled on the edge of the area. Connor stepped up to take the free kick and blasted one into the right hand side of the net. Bromley Heath were now 2-0 up and what a superb strike from Connor (Beckham would of enjoyed that one). Longwell Green made a couple of changes and put some pressure on the defence. Wes was looking lively as always and seemed to be winning every tackle he made. With Wes and Jake communicating well they looked solid at the back. Josh had to make a couple of saves but wasn’t troubled too often with another good performance in goal. It was soon attack after attack by the Bromley Boys. Were we going to score again? Connor went on a run down the left wing, then turned onto his right foot and shot low past the keeper for his second goal of the game and Bromley’s third, 3-0. All the boys celebrated in style in the centre circle with a couple of decent disco moves. Bromley Heath played the rest of the half well with some good passes and shots on target all taking place. The ref then blew his whistle for full time and all the boys deserved the victory.

Score: Longwell Green ‘C’ 0 – 3 Bromley Heath United.

Well done lads, you all performed well and were worthy winners!!! Let’s keep it going!!!!!

This game was made up of 3x 20 minute thirds so that all the team could get a game.

The pitch was a little bit muddy, but the Bromley Boys (and Girl) got stuck in with no fear of getting their boots dirty.

All the parents turned up with their water proofs and umbrellas and were all looking forward to a good game of footie.

1st Third: Longwell Green 0 - 1 Bromley Heath Utd

Bromley were kicking up hill and the pitch was extremly muddy but all the guys looked up for it. Bromley had most of the possesion and looked like scoring every time we got in the final third of the pitch. Josh and Luke were linking up well and both deserved to score, with Ryan and Jacob battling well in midfield. Marley didn't have much to do, but when called upon looked very good. Evan and Jordan were communicating well and hardly put a foot wrong. Josh scored the only goal of the game with a very cool finish. Bromley defended well and attacked superbly and really should have scored more goals. At the end of the third, Bromley Heath were the team that had the lead.

2nd Third: Longwell Green 0 - 2 Bromley Heath Utd

Both teams swapped ends and Bromley Heath started the more brighter and had a couple of attacks with Zach and Josh combining well together. Josh had been put into goal and had to dive onto the ball a couple of times with Longwell Green putting some pressure on us at the back. Alicia and Evan were now defending and looked a good defensive partnership with John and Jacob in midfield helping them as best as they could. Longwell Green were struggling to break us down and from a huge Josh kick Bromley Heath went on the attack and got a freekick on the dge of the box. Evan whipped in a cross and it hit one of the hands of the Longwell Green defence and the referee awarded us with a penalty. Evan took the penalty and cooly placed the ball into the top left hand corner giving the keeper no chance. Bromley Heath added a second goal with Josh getting his second of the contest with another brilliant finish. The second third came to and end with Bromley Heath now 3-0 up.

3rd Third: Longwell Green 3 - 1 Bromley Heath Utd
At the start of the final third it was noticeable that Longwell Green had saved some of thier better players for one big final push to get back in the game. Jamie had changed the Bromley Team around again with Johnathan and Connor starting the final third. Marley and Josh were both involved in the final third and came up with some really good saves. Evan was involved in the first goal, unfortunately he put it into his own net as he tried to clear a decent cross from the right hand side. Jordan and Alicia were both involved at left back and put in a solid performance. Longwell Green got a second goal with a low shot that just beat our keeper, who got a hand to it. Ryan and Jacob were battling well in the midfield but were finding it hard to find Luke and Johnathan up front. Longwell Green got a third goal and were now looking the side who were going to go and win the game. The rain started to fall and the Bromley Bunch were battling hard to keep the ball in our possesion. Josh came on very near the end and put the ball through to Luke who ran onto the ball and slotted the ball past the goalie with an excellent finish, hard and low. All the Bromley Boys (and parents) celebrated as the ref blew his whistle for full time.

WHAT A GAME !!!!!!!! PHEW !!!!!

Overall Score: Longwell Green 3 v 4 Bromley Heath Utd

This was a very good result as we had a lot of players missing but everyone who turned up played their part in an excellent team performance. The hard work in training is finally showing on the pitch, lets see if we can start shooting when we get near the box and getting a couple more goals.

Jamie said after the game "The guys were awesome today" and I would have to agree with him.

Match Report: Coach Steve.

Bromley Heath Utd  Vs St Nicolas Wanderers  16/11/08

Finally a league game!

1st Game

Josh J / Evan R / Jake H / Connor  H / Jacob O / Luke D / Sam H / Josh H

All the guys were well up for today seeing as there has not been a league game for them in weeks, we had Sam H back from injury and he was bouncing and ready to get going again. Straight from kick off the Bromley guys struggled to find their shape that they had worked so hard on at training and within 5 Minutes Wanderers scored and were 1.0 up. After a little chat from the side to all the lads they finally calmed down and started to find there shape and moving off the ball very well putting Wanderers on the back foot. Then from  a corner our left back star Jake H stepped up to the box and as the ball came across the box he hit it on a half volley and sent it flying into the top left hand corner of the net !!! What a goal followed by a great team celebration. 1.1 .

After that 1st goal was scored it was like watching a different team out there. EVERYONE worked there socks off all thinking off the ball and on the ball! A flurry of goals were to follow from the Bromley guys,

Jake O – 1 / Josh H – 2 / Sam H – 1 / Connor H – 2

Final Score -  Bromley 7 / Wanders 1

Guys the best you have ever pla yed as a TEAM, that’s what it is all about guys playing and passing as a TEAM! Well Done!

2nd Game

Marley J / Jordan H / Wes B / James L / Ryan B / Ben D / Connor M / Alicia L / Zack M / Jon F

After watching the first game these guys were buzzing ready to get stuck in the same way as there team mates had done so in the 1st game, and that`s exactly what they did do. They came out passing the ball around just as the guys in the 1st game did. Shot after shot but could not hit the back of that net in the first half, Jon F and Zack M had some many scrambles in their box but just could not get that final touch to push it past their keeper.

Second half we made a few changes moving some of the players into positions they had not played in before to see if we could get that ball in the back of the net! Jon F made way for Connor M to come on and make his BIG presents felt on the right wing and BIRTHDAY BOY Jordan stepped up from Right back to centre forward. Still we could not break there Defence after another flurry of shots, Wanderers hardly touch the turf in our half. Then Jon F came back on and promised me a goal as he ran onto the pitch and my god did he stick to his word , within 2 minutes of coming back on he hit the ball from outside their box and sent it flying into the top right corner , keeper didn’t even see it coming. What a Goal.

The guys kept battling then unfortunately Wanderers made 1 lucky break and managed to bring it level.

Final Score – Bromley 1 / Wanders 1

Another great TEAM effort!!

Well guys finally a league win and can I say every single one of you did everything that we have been doing at training and what a difference on the pitch,

EXCELLENT GUYS KEEP UP THE HARD WORK AT TRAINING.
