Bristol City Junior Supporters Club V Bromley Heath United U12s
Glous Cup 2nd Round 16/10/2011
3rd Division Bromley knocks top flight team out of Glous Cup!!

Bromley Heath knew they were going to be facing a tough side that sit near the top of Division 1 as they them self are  down in Div 3, so were going with the intentions of enjoying the game and doing the best they could- and the best they did!
It was great footballing conditions with a slight wind advantage playing down the park, both sides started strong and for the most part of the first half it was end to end stuff with some great football played by both teams. With not much in it for the first half City scored a goal in the first half to leave the field at half time 1.0 up. Bromley came out in the second half with some very positive football defending against an attacking City, City had some very good chances hitting the cross bar twice within a matter of minutes, but Bromley dug in and within 10 minutes of the second half Mason Davis, with support of Jake Haile and Jack Stewart scored a well deserved equaliser. This put Bromley on the front foot and from that moment they put in a performance to be proud of and then from a corner delivered from Jake Haile, Josh Johnson hit a great strike with his weaker left foot to put Bromley in a well worked and deserved lead. After Bromley took the lead they held the game very well and defended superbly well but from one lack of concentration they allowed City to put away a superb goal which are star keeper had no chance of saving as it hit the top right hand corner. This goal came with minutes to go until full time and pushed the game to extra time.
Both teams at this point had put their all in and took part in what was a brilliant game of football played by both sides. Extra time was of course only short with 5 minutes each way, within the 10 Minutes it was once again end to end stuff with both sides having their chances on goal, but no goals were scored in extra time which of course ended up with penalties being need to be taken to decide the final winner of the day`s cup game.
Penalties –
Best out of 5 penalties to decide the winner of today’s game, first up was City who scored even though Brad pike Bromley keeper got a hand to it, next up was Josh Hardie of Bromley who put the ball in the bottom right corner 1.1, the next city player stepped up and drove the ball hard to the left and Brad Pike went the right way to make an excellent save, next up for Bromley was Mason Davis who struck the ball well and placed it in the top left corner leaving the keeper no chance of saving, 2.1 Bromley. The next city player stepped up struck the ball and placed it wide. Then earlier goal scorer Josh Johnson stepped up for his penalty but unfortunately put the ball wide. Next City player stepped up and although Bromley Keeper Brad Pike got a hand to yet another penalty it slipped into the left hand corner now making the score level 2.2 on penalties. Next to step up was Jake Haile who earlier assisted in setting up Josh Johnsons goal, he hit it hard and low but it just went wide of the right hand post. So it was down to the last 2 penalties which would either win it lose it or send the game to sudden death…. Bristol City lad then stepped up placed the ball down to take his kick he hit it hard into the top left hand corner but Brad Pike who had got his hand to every on target penalty made a fantastic save….. Well what an exciting morning of football and what an ending as the last Bromley Penalty was to be taken by Brad Pike the goal keeper that had played out of his skin and saved 2 penalties, he stepped up for his penalty which if scored would put Bromley through to the next round of the cup….. He took his run up struck the ball and hit it in the top left hand corner leaving the keeper with no chance!!! Bromley had now won the cup game through hero keeper Brad Pike not only saving 2 penalties but scoring the winning goal. Final score in penalties- Bromley Heath 3, BCJSC 2.
What an exciting day of football and well deserved div 3 winners Bromley played their hearts out, but the man of the day and Bromley`s man of the match without a doubt was Mr Bradley Pike… Well done Bromley-you never gave up!

Bromley do it again!!!!

Bromley Heath U12s played there second cup game after last week`s win over BCJSC and knocked Unbeaten Warmley Rangers Colts out of the Avon Youth Leauge cup. For the second week running Brad Pike Bromley`s keeper became the hero again not only saving a penalty during the match but then later denying the opposition of 3 penalty goals by making some amazing saves. The game finished up 1.1 after extra time with a penalty goal by Josh Hardie and a superb finish by Warmley Rangers from outside the box. The penalty shoot out ended up 4.1 to Bromley after Josh Hardie, Josh Johnson, Mason Davies and Jake Haile put away some very well taken penalties.
